Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – PlayStation 5

So after receiving my PS5 last Thursday I was very eager to play this as I am a massive Spider-Man fan and have battled my way through New York on more then one occasion. This game first of all loads up incredibly quick! After doing the initial install which was around 40GB, from pressing the load up button I was in and playing the game in around 10 seconds! there was no messing about. I tested how quick it was to jump from game to game and quick access between games meant I could be playing Astro Bot trying to beat friends scores and then when I wanted to swing back into New York it took about 5-6 seconds to be back in and swinging!! I was thoroughly impressed. Running on PS5 graphics needless to say it looks stunning especially when running this in 4K. It does have enabled ray tracing which is incredible you can see every reflection even in Spider-Man’s armour it really is fantastic software. That being said this is only enabled when running 30fps. you can run in 60fps but ray tracing does not work in this mode but you do have the option to change this at any time. I loved the story to this however I feel it should have been longer… and wasnt nearly enough Boss battles… compared to older games it did feel short in comparison and I really think it will benefit from DLC as I did manage to 100% Platinum this game in 3 days total alongside working etc. Overall very good game just could have been longer. 8 out of 10 from me.

The original spiderman game on the PS4 was brilliant, and this being one of the launch titles for PS5 i was truly excited. Overall the game does not disappoint and graphically is beautiful- i played it with Ray-tracing on as opposed to the 60fps mode. I do like the story as well. So why the 4 stars as opposed to a full-fat 5- well its because the game is short and it feels so compared to the first iteration. The first Spiderman game had multiple bosses, epic battles and a more comprehensive story line- it just felt complete, so when you finished the game and didnt expand it with the DLC that felt OK. This game feels way too short, the boss battles not as epic and demanding- so when i approached the final chapter of the story- I was like ‘no way.’ I had got to the end with not even all the skills, hadnt locked all the suits or upgrades, hadnt upgraded any of the weapons and yet I was on the cusp of the final part of the game. I purposely put it off so I could do all the above things-I like the game- so the likelihood is that I will be purchasing DLC content to expand the game which for a game at this price means I will probably end up paying closer to the £100 mark which is a really expensive standard edition game.

Bought this for my grandkids for Christmas. They just loved it. Graphics is excellent. Arrived on time for Christmas.
