The game plays and operates fine, per my son. However he purchased a DLC which does not work because the game apparently is not the USA version and the DLC does not support the region. How would anyone know this? The description of the product does NOT say anything about this.

Just finished playing this game (main story) today (ps5). The story and gameplay are much more better than the original game. Taken me over 125 hours to complete and thats with exploring the most of the map.
Ignore the negative reviews because not everybody who has reviewed this game has played the whole game through, rather a few hours. I think its fair to say you should review the game once you have played it through properly.
The graphics are amazing and you can tell developers have put in alot of time and work and I dont regret spending the money to play this game. The game expands upon first game in every way. The story is amazing and the side quests are more interesting unlike some games (assassins creed). The map is massive and there is much to explore in the wild west. There are a range of weapons you can use but you need to level up by doing main and side quests as well as upgrading your weapons. You will need to use different weapons for different enemies depending on there weaknesses. There is also a skill tree where you can upgrade your skills to your own liking. There are some parts of the game liike the tailneck in the middle of nowhere where you cannot reach it at the start or middle of the game. You will have to complete more main quests in order explore certain areas of the game (but your not told that).
The ocean is an amazing place. Best Ive seen in a game. The music is incredible to. I love the soundtrack. My favourite is track of the game is: The World on her shoulders.
I don’t really have any bad points to say about the game apart from the climbing can be abit frustarating at times but nothing to bad.
I cannot wait for the next and final game!!!
Will be amazing to see what the developers come up with next. Although will be years away, I can’t wait to play it.
If your thinking about buying this game, dont hesitate buy it worth the money if you like story games.

Zero Dawn was quite simply a 10/10 game. Hugely ambitious and became the best game on PS4 when it was released. Forbidden West tries to hit those highs, expanding on the original that was such a massive hit. But it never quite happened.
I love the Horizon world, its back story and scope for the future, but whenever I play I just can’t shake the feeling that the developers got a little fed up of this game. I mean, there are some quite glaringly obvious short cuts which were taken in the game that it is hard to deny. Some character skins in the game are reused for different characters, with very minor changes, and even using the same voices. Then the dialogue for some characters just seem, lazily done. Like running out of things to say but they must say something. And some quests appear outright broken if try to complete them, until you find out later that the reason the quest appears broken is because you have to do it in a specific manner the game has set out.
Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot to love about this game. The Vistas are stunning, the music is simply awesome and the story, while a little confusing to track, does offer some new and tantalising storylines which I assume will be used in the future. Again, there is a lot to like here.
Does this game get top marks? Not for me. It isn’t quite up there with Zero Dawn but it does make for an enjoyable continuation of the world and will be enjoyed by anyone who loved the first game and subsequent add on.

Enjoyed watching my boyfriend play and following the story. Not sure what if I’d call myself a casual gamer but certainly not ‘hard-core’ either. I like what I like- Zelda, Devil May Cry, Sonic, Crash, the odd simulation game, played a bit of Returnal on my friend’s ps5 and enjoyed the story- and the freedom of having to accept that you’ll die a few times as part of the game. So I suppose it’s important that I can get lost in game ,the story, the universe within etc and unfortunately, Horizon’s finicky controls (and having to constantly pause and think ‘now how do I do this again? How do I make this happen, fire this weapon etc?’) took me out of enjoying the story way too often. Its not that the game doesn’t try to explain- it certainly doesn’t leave the gamer to explore the controls- so its not so much a fault of the game as it is an incompatibility with the type of ‘gamer’ I am. Maybe I’m getting old- maybe if I were younger this wouldn’t be such an issue, but then, maybe not- I can’t remember playing a game that heaps so much complexity onto the player at the beginning. My favourites are games that ease you into gameplay and let you play with just your sword and shield before introducing other aspects of the game such as other weapons, controls and abilities.
Maybe I’m an idiot who wants an idiot proof game. But I don’t think I’m entirely alone!
But I’ll stress that my boyfriend is enjoying this and I suspect my best friend will enjoy this game too.
So while Horizon looks pretty, I think it’s more suited to the dedicated gamer who’s used to such intricate gameplay. Not to say everybody is the same though. If you are, like me, an intermediate between casual and hard-core gamer and are attracted by the visuals and the story- if you have a chance- see what you think.

While I have also been playing Xenoblade 3 I have mostly devoted any gaming time to Horizon FW. Now I loved the first one and the DLC but I really can’t say the same for the sequel and i’ll tell you why!
The graphics are very nice to look at and the combat remains to be fun and challenging and some of the story is pretty good but this is where the greatness of this game ends for me. The game is dialogue heavy, so much so I ended up starting to skip over bits because I got so bored with it. This is to say I have never done this in any other game and this is the main quest story not just side quests which there is even more dialogue. Speaking of the storyline it’s not pulling me in very much, it’s safe to say that the game is pretty much more of the same from the first and I can’t even tell you what’s new.
The map is pepper with lots of things to do but most are repetitive. The world looks fantastic and I would rather have less to do than having to do the same stuff over and over again. There are save fire points everywhere it’s almost a joke that you have a travel pack to fast travel. The world is peppered with items to pick up and collect as well, again you will pick up way more than what you need and some of what you actually need is more of a challenged to get that you may decide not to bother. I would honestly prefer the same map with less stuff to do so I can enjoy the world that has been created.
Climbing doesn’t make sense! you can climb some areas but not others yet they look the same. You have to keep using the focus all the time to see where you can climb. People and animals just randomly disappear! You take aim to fire at an animal or person and just disappear “Poof” gone! You can easily get trapped! sometimes on random map areas, underwater can be easily dioriantating and you can get trapped without seeing what it is that you are caught on and you can get trapped in heavy bush areas, sometimes just losing vision of your character completely. Also there is invisible walls!
80 hours in and im just playing for the sake of it now, I really loved Las Vegas area but so far I am not loving it like I did the last game. You can even get one shot killed which can be extremely annoying.
I wanted to love this as much as the first game but I just don’t. While combat remains fun and some exploration is enjoyable in the vast beautiful world that has been created the game is dialogue heavy and feels very samey.

This game looks so good. Sequelizing Horizon: Zero Dawn, this game follows Aloy in her next set of challenges now that she’s the savior of meridian. Gameplay is pretty much the same, so all your controller usage will transfer over, but the world is more varied, the challenges are more varied, and the open world offers more opportunities for ADHD missions.
If you liked becoming high powered and hard to kill in HZD, you will miss that in this game. Aloy’s power and defenses are kept more in line with her adversaries (or harder to level up) in this game. It makes for better gameplay, but it is a little disappointing after finishing HZD basically on god mode.
Only lousy things about this game are the bits that weren’t ready for public production. The map doesn’t display information consistently (some places turn green when you complete them some places display a new symbol when missions are complete, others don’t), which can leave you wasting hours trying to figure out what you’ve missed, when you haven’t missed anything at all. Supplies are often found inside solid objects you can get through to get the supplies. As you get to the end of the game, the NPC archers get annoyingly good, with reaction times only possible if they can read your controller inputs.
That said, what a remarkable, engrossing, expansive world of adventures. I spent 160 hours playing through this (I’m bad at games, and very distracted by side quests), and I couldn’t stop. Really enjoyable, addicting, rewarding game. Buy your spouse something nice because you won’t be around much for awhile.
