The only problem is it doesn’t connect to other devices besides play stations

Bought two of these in different styles/colors for my kids. We have used them for several months and no issues up till now. Both charge fine on our double charger. One controller locks up occasionally and your character just takes off on his own. No buttons will work and you have to disconnect the controller. The other one works great so far. The sensitivity is high so expect to have to dial it down.

Feels ok so far, but I just started using it. It’s lightweight compared to the actual dual-shock, but it’s comfortable in the hands and the buttons feel sturdy enough. The sticks feel quite good actually – none of the stiff/springy/over-correcting bs that I have dealt with when aiming with the last non-original controller that I bought on Amazon. I highly recommend some silicone grip toppers for the sticks though. I keep them around and I put a pair on these immediately which helps a lot.

If you’re into games that are typically hard on controllers, like fighting games for example, spring the $60 for a real dual shock, or something comparable if possible, because the buttons WILL wear out & start sticking sooner than later if my past experiences hold true with aftermarket controllers. But having one of these type around for basic gaming such as 3rd person rpg’s etc is great. Perfectly serviceable in most instances, and you can save your expensive one & it will last a helluva lot longer in the long run. Plus it’s perfect to have around for your buddy to use when they join in some co-op adventures!

    Can only
Speak for myself but I honestly
Can’t tell the difference from this and the ones that came with the ps4. Good weight and solid buttons. The thing that really sold me was it has both charging ports when most off brands do not. This fits on my charging dock and holds a good charge for hours. No lag no problems after months of use. I’ll be getting another.

I bought 3 for my younger brothers. All 3 of them connected just like a normal controller would to their PS4. They charge fairly quickly and are wireless, so they don’t need to be plugged in all the time you’re playing. The controllers are very very cheap to an otherwise $60+ controller that’s for a 9-year-old console. They work with no extra effort, and I’d highly recommend them. The design is something I can overlook for the price as well.

I’ll preface my review by stating I’ve never used this controller with an actual PlayStation 4. I use it exclusively for PC gaming, so if you’re wondering how well it works with the intended console, you’ll want to look to other reviewers who can speak to that experience.

I prefer the symmetrical, centrally-placed analog sticks of PlayStation controllers to the off-center Xbox-style design that places the D-pad between the sticks, so for years, I’ve used DualShock 3s and 4s as my PC gaming controllers. Lately, however, I’ve decided that the official controllers are too expensive for their brief lifespans (I pray for Hall effect sticks to become the standard over ALPS), and decided to try out this cheapie.

I’ve had mixed experiences with third-party PlayStation controllers in the past, with most being decidedly subpar, but this one is shockingly good. Buttons feel good, L1/2 and R1/2 feel good, and even the L3 and R3 functionality (pressing in on the sticks as an additional button), which many controllers struggle to make comfortably and responsively, feels good. Vibration and trackpad work as expected. I haven’t played anything with Sixaxis controls on this thing, so I can’t comment on that.

There are a few issues. The tops of the analog sticks are VERY concave, which feels weird when you’re accustomed to the rounder DualShock caps. For me, it felt a little rougher on the thumbs with extended play. The battery life is decidedly inferior to the real deal; I normally play wired so I don’t really care about battery life, but you might! Finally, and this is a really minor thing, whatever ink or paint the manufacturer used to label the buttons doesn’t hold up. It’s wearing off fast, like the lettering on some cheap keyboards. If you’re a veteran of Playstation controls, you know where your triangle, circle, square and X live and blank buttons aren’t going to slow you down, but it may annoy the less familiar or those who find it aesthetically disagreeable. It’s interesting that the product picture shows blank buttons to begin with, whereas my controller came with labeled buttons but they’re rapidly GOING blank!

Aside from the minor stick and button-label quibbles, and the potentially larger issue of battery life if you’re going wireless, though, this thing is VERY close to proper DualShock 4 performance at a much more palatable price… at least as far as PC gaming with DS4Windows, mostly via Steam, is concerned. For any potential compatibility or other issues when using this controller with a console, you’ll have to check other reviews, sorry!

I guess the most important thing to know is that this remote mostly works. I plugged it into my PS4 and it paired automatically and I was able to use it right away. Build quality is good and it feels solid, and my kids love the cool design/skin.

There are however some peculiarities & differences:

    1) Audio: it is not as loud as the original PS4 remote.
    2) Force Feedback: Vibrations are more subdued (and quite different!).
    3) Battery: It does not go to sleep and remains on until the battery drains fully which is kinda frustrating.

I’m not sure if the above issues can be changed via some hidden button combinations on this remote, but out of the box this is how this remote behaves.

UPDATE: Through this controller I found China is manufacturing a crazy number of PS4 Controller Clones. They are not all the same, some have better force feedback motors & weights (see my point 2 above), and some might actually sleep when the PS4 tells them to sleep (unlike this one which seems to ignore the Sleep request).

Good price I like the graffiti print it’s cool and colorful. If anything I would say it’s a little extra sensitive but our other controllers are d so it’s hard to compare but it holds a change for about the same length as our older ps 4 controllers
